New NGOs, including the Danish Refugee Council (DRC) and the World Food Programme, warn of severe humanitarian consequences due to the end of international aid from the United States, a decision made by Donald Trump. A DRC report predicts forced displacement of 6.7 million people in the next two years and criticizes aid cuts from developed nations, led by the US. The report estimates that 57 million fewer people could be helped, leaving only 26% of the 307 million people in need worldwide receiving aid. Sudan and Burma are among the countries hardest hit.
